Pre-K and Kindergarten students at Perdido Elementary/Middle School celebrated being the grade level to turn in the most Box Tops for Education this year, with a pizza party. The combined classes of Mrs. Glinda Dennis, Mrs. Kambi Gohagan and Mrs. Brooke Drinkard collected and turned in over 3000 box tops. As a whole, the school turned in over 16,500 box tops to earn $1,650.00. Students in Ms. Gerri McDonald’s Humanities and Project Jubilee classes use the money raised through this service learning project, for the funding of their annual “Salute to Veterans” program and reception. This is held in November, to honor all of the Veterans in the surrounding communities.
Students turn in box tops throughout the school year and earn free slushies, as well as pizza parties. Perdido School has been fortunate to have people throughout Baldwin and Escambia Counties also send in their box tops for this worthwhile project. The school welcomes all donations of box tops which can be sent to the school at: Perdido School P.O. Box 28 Perdido, AL 36562.
