DAPHNE, Ala. — Bay Rivers Art Guild of Daphne held its 2008 Photography Juried Show on March 1.. Best of Show, an honor carrying a $300 award, went to Margarita Skiadas for her sepia tone image entitled “My Tamata.”

Mary Emily Davidson placed second and won $100 for her black and white photo of two empty chairs facing one another and appropriately named “Prior to Conversation.”

BRAG President Valley O’Neal received third prize for her unique entry entitled “Dining in the Delta,” a simple yet profoundly telling photo of a grocery store shelf containing many canned regional favorites that reminded us all of our Southern culinary tastes.

O’Neal received $50 for her third place finish, and her work was purchased by evening’s end.

Once again Bay Rivers Art Guild provided a venue for the Eastern Shore to display its local talent. The group will hold its next exhibit, Artist by the Bay, on March 29.
