DAPHNE, Ala. — The Olde Towne Daphne Association will host “Community Conversation: Brainstorming for Olde Towne,” tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
Starke Irvine, head of the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, will speak about the DRA’s plans for the “Olde Towne” area of the Jubilee City.
“The DRA has been working tirelessly to improve our streetscape: lighting, trees, walkability, the fountain at City Hall, buried utilities, etc.,” Kären Nady, OTDA president, said in a news release.
Proposed plans to think about are as follows:
“After we hear form Mr. Irvine, OTDA will host a community conversation brainstorming idea to expand DRA’s efforts into our residential neighborhoods,” Nady said.
“Are you passionate about walking trails, parks or green space, old camellias, traffic, bay access or historic preservation? If so, this meeting is for you,” she said.
The ideas generated through this community brainstorming event will become part of a plan for the Olde Towne Daphne area, according to the news release.
“We look forward to hearing from you, your neighbors or home owners association,” Nady said.
Olde Towne Daphne Association is a non-profit corporation whose members include residents, businesses, private schools and nonprofits primarily located in Olde Towne Daphne. Membership is open to anyone residing in Daphne; the leadership and staff of OTDA are volunteers, according to the organization’s Web site.
