GULF SHORES, Ala. — Brent Burns, 2008 Trop Rock Music Entertainer of the Year, presents Grammy award-winner Linda Davis with special guests Lang Scott and Bill Whyte in a songwriters’ showcase at the South Baldwin Community Theatre on March 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the performance are $25 per person. Call Sharon Kendall at (251) 948-8863 for your reservation.

Labeled a “song stylist,” Davis’ unique ability to interpret a song made her a sought-after session singer in Nashville.

She landed a record deal with CBS/Epic Records. Davis quickly gained a legion of friends and fans in the music industry, one being superstar Reba McEntire.

Their mutual respect led them to record the duet, “Does He Love You?,” which became a No. 1 hit and earned both artists several awards, including a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Collaboration.

Through the years, Davis has played to sold-out crowds with the likes of Garth Brooks, George Strait, Reba McEntire and Kenny Rogers.

Scott grew up in the lowcountry of South Carolina. He moved to Nashville in 1982.

Some of his accomplishments include first national championship of TNN’s “You Can Be A Star,” MCA recording artist, multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances, guitarist and background vocalist for McEntire, had songs recorded by LeeAnn Rimes, JoDee Messina and Linda Davis and has toured with Linda Davis, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers and The Statler Brothers.

Whyte’s unique presentation of funny and twisted songs makes him a favorite. Whether he’s picking on pseudo celebrities in his song “Celebutard” or wondering how much he could get away with in “If I Had Boobs,” he always leaves the crowd laughing.

Whyte’s song, “I’m Goin’ Ugly Early Tonight,” co-written by Burns, is the perfect howling climax for his stand up-singing routine.

Whyte’s former career was that of a morning radio guy. He has won numerous broadcast awards, including the CMA Award for Best Large Market Personality. Visit www.billwhytecomedy.com to find out more.
