Edward Murice Briehn, 94, a native of Selma, La., a long time resident of Miami and a resident of Daphne, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009.

He was a veteran of World War II in Iwo Jima and other islands. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Coby Laverne Briehn and John Edward Briehn.

Survivors include his wife, Mitzi Briehn of Daphne, two daughters, Karen Simmons (Jim) Sicoli of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, and Susan Simmons (Larry) Beidel of Gold Bar, Wash.; brother, Gene Briehn of Berwick, La.; eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Matthew, Christina, Jonathan, Stephen and Alexander Sicoli, Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, John Beidel of Tacoma, Wash., and Jason White of Everett, Wash.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home.
