BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Spanish Fort Church of Christ was the setting for the late afternoon wedding of Tabitha Renee Brooks and Matthew Warner Morrison, both of Bay Minette, on Saturday, April 23, 2011. The ceremony was performed by Minister Jerry Childs of 14th Street Church of Christ in Bay Minette.

Renee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Brooks of Bay Minette. Her grandparents are Judy Grindle, Sam Hill and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carter Brooks.

She is a 2010 graduate of the University of Mobile, and is pursuing a master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

She is employed by the Baldwin County Board of Education.

Matt, a 2006 graduate of the University of Mobile, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dale Morrison of Bay Minette. His grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Warner Morrison and the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther L. Gee.

He is employed by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory satin pick-up style ball gown, which was embellished with pearls and crystals at the empire waist. Her cathedral length veil of ivory illusion was secured by a comb of pearls and crystals.

She carried a French bouquet of white roses, deep purple and white calla lilies and pale green hydrangeas, tied with deep purple satin ribbon.

The bride chose her sister, Crystal Cox, as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were friends of the bride and included Leah Bloom, Mya Pierce, Amy Tindle, Sheena Byrd, Amelia Sutherland, Mandy Murphy and April Roberts.

Callie Roley was junior bridesmaid and honorary bridesmaids were Deana Pitre and Paige May.

Flower girls were twin sisters of the bride, Mary Emma and Hannah Brooks.

Serving the groom as best man was his father, Joseph Dale Morrison.

Groomsmen included the groom’s cousin, Nicholas Gee; brother-in-law of the bride, Jim Cox; and friends of the groom Casey Warfield, James Tindle, Jody McMillan, Jerrod Sheffield and Ben DeWit.

Brother of the bride, Will Brooks, was junior groomsman and J. T. Cox, nephew of the bride, was the bell ringer.

The reception was held at Bayfront Park in Daphne.

After a honeymoon trip to the Smoky Mountains, the couple is residing in Bay Minette.
