Brown named Shannon Lowder Builder of the Year

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Robert Brown of Fairhope has been named the 2011 Shannon Lowder Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Alabama.

Brown was honored during the HBAA’s Convention awards presentation held Oct. 28, at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa in Huntsville, Ala.  

Brown, of H.C. Pitman, has been a builder member of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association for the past 10 years. He has served on numerous committees, including the Parade of Homes, Community Service, Membership and Remodelers Council. He served as president of the BCHBA in 2009 and 2010.

Brown currently represents the BCHBA as a state and national director. He has earned the Green Building Professional and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist designations from the National Association of Home Builders. He has been appointed to serve as the HBAA’s Affordable Housing Council and Building Innovations Group Chair for 2012.

The Shannon Lowder Builder of the Year award is designed to recognize builders who have demonstrated outstanding service to their local and state associations, their community and the building industry as a whole. 

Local Associations received President’s Awards in their respective sizes in various categories. The Baldwin County Home Builders Association received the following President’s Awards:
