FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Eastern Shore Art Center has announced that Fuller Brown of Pensacola will serve as judge for the 28th Annual Grand Festival of Art, Oct. 17-18 in downtown Fairhope.
Brown, a northwest Florida native, holds an undergraduate degree in art from the University of West Florida and an master’s in fine art from the University of Memphis. He has studied and traveled extensively to expand his artistic knowledge and has taught drawing, painting and sculpture on the junior college, university and community levels.
Brown has been active as a community leader in the arts, serving on the boards of Pensacola Artist Inc, the Crealde Art Center in Winter Park, Fla. and the Cultural Arts Federation of Prince William County, Va.
While living in Virginia, he was responsible for the creation of a 16-foot mural in the Dale City library, celebrating the astronauts of Space Shuttle Challenger.
He has also been the director of the Gulf Breeze Visual Fine Arts Show.
The Grand Festival of Art will feature more than 100 artists in an outdoor setting. Fine artists are represented in a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, pottery and ceramics, glass, jewelry and wood.
The Grand Festival also offers an excellent chance to meet those who create their artwork.
Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the two-day event.
Attendance is estimated to be more than 200,000 visitors throughout the regional area.
Grand sponsor for this year’s event is BancorpSouth and admission is free.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
