My family and I thank all of you who supported us with financial assistance, hard work and help during the campaign. Your faith in my family and me is so humbling and greatly appreciated.

As a coach and umpire for 25 years in the Daphne recreation program, I always tried to teach my players fairness and how to win and lose with dignity. It is hard to accept this loss with dignity and move on because of the downturn to negative campaigning by my opponent in sponsoring another Baldwin County newspaper’s lies and innuendoes. (Editor’s Note: The publication was not a Gulf Coast Newspapers publication.)

The runoff race was very positive until this happened; but, in today’s politics, I guess it takes negative campaigning to win; look at the presidential race.

Thanks to Mr. Ernie Berger for his positive campaigning. I wish him all the best in any future endeavors and with Santa-America.

We really appreciate all who voted and supported us in the runoff election. It is surprising when you look at the registered voters list and see the voters that just did not vote.

Please go vote in the presidential election. It means so much for our country.

I wish the best for Daphne, our home for 47 years, as we face economic struggles and growing pains.

Again, thanks to all our supporters and may God bless you.
