GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Gulf Shores area Bruno’s Supermarket location, one of the 31 recently purchased stores by Southern Family Markets, has completed the process of converting to SFM ownership.

The store is located at 1545 Gulf Shores Parkway.  

Grand opening celebrations will follow in the next several weeks.  

“The conversions are a multipronged process,” said Jeffery Burkhead, Senior Vice President and General Manager of SFM.  “Each store physically closes for three days to take inventory, install Southern Family Systems, and to reduce prices. Customers there now experience reduced everyday prices on over 6000 items.”

Red circle shelf talkers are located throughout the store denoting the products with the 6,000 price reductions.

Some aisles are literally covered with thousands of red dots, one after another, and stick out in the aisles for the customers to see the “New Bruno’s Supermarkets” pricing structure. 

In each recently reset produce department, high quality fruit and vegetable perishables priced at a value, also carry a new posted guarantee.

Part of the SFM high standard of quality perishables is the introduction of their  “Double Your Money Back Guarantee.”  

The guarantee sign hangs both in the perishable department and the deli department.

Southern Family Markets is Southeastern managed with its headquarters at 800 Lakeshore Parkway in Birmingham.

SFM currently operates Southern Family Markets,  Piggly Wiggly stores, Bruno’s, Food World, and  SFM liquor stores in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Georgia.

SFM purchased 31 stores at auction from Bruno’s Supermarkets, LLC., in early May 2009.
