Judith Van Buren “Judy” Bryan, born May 2, 1921 in Griswolville, Ga., died Monday, March 8, 2010.

She was the daughter of Bayard Machen and Evelyn Hamlin Van Buren.

She was a woman of deep faith and conviction. She read her Bible daily and offered prayers continually.  She lived a life wrapped in the love of Jesus Christ.  She believed what the Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9 that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Her  prayer is that all of you who read this would receive the gift of eternal life through  belief in Jesus Christ. John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God  did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

In her Bible she had written these words “To know the will of God is the greatest knowledge, to do the will of God is the greatest achievement. The will of God is not always easy, but it is always right.” (George W. Truett) “I pray for God’s will in my life.”

She worshiped and served the Lord at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Fairhope, where she was ordained  a deacon in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Parker Bryan in March of 1994; and a brother, Cornelius Henry Van Buren, in February of 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Alicia (David Sr.) Robertson of Montgomery and Janet (Chris) Hinton of Shreveport, La.;  one grandson, David  (Kate) Robertson Jr.; one step-grandson, Cory Hinton; and two  great-grandsons, Bennett and Chapman Robertson, sons of David and Kate.

Graveside services were held Tuesday March 9 at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
