Bryan Hal Bennett, 42, a native of New Orleans and resident of Gulf Shores, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014.

Bryan was a salesman at J&M Tackle.

He attended Ganus High School in New Orleans, graduating in 1989. He went on to attend the University of New Orleans and received his degree in communications with a minor in marketing.

He was a talented writer and artist, an avid fisherman and he published more than 75 articles on fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Maren Bennett of Houston, Texas; his parents, Hal and Carolyn Bennett of Gulf Shores; sister, Susan Bennett (Josh Wolf) of Brooklyn, N.Y.; uncles, Tom Bennett (Lorraine) of Murphy, N.C. and Tim Bennett (Lynette) of Madison, Fla.; great aunt, Eula Mae Scheinert of Elberta; and nephew, Hugo Bennett-Wolf of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Gulf Shores. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Foley.
