Arman J. Buettner, 96, a resident of Spanish Fort and a 25 year summer resident of Glen, N.H., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007.

He was born in Holstein, Iowa, the son of Fred and Christina Buettner and was raised by his mother and grandmother, Anne Sophie Janns.

He was a 1932 engineering graduate of Iowa State College, first employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission; had a 25-year career with the Eugene Dietzgen Company, beginning as a salesman in their Washington D.C. branch and concluding as the North Central Regional Manager in Chicago.

He returned to Washington, D.C., area where he formed the Repro-Graphic Supply Company from which he retired in 1977 and moved to the Lake Forest area of Daphne. He was an avid golfer; a member of Alexandria-Washington Masonic Lodge No. 22 in Alexandria, Va.; St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne and St. Margareta Angelican Church in Conway, N.H.

Survivors include a son, William Stewart Buettner; and daughter, Edith Christine Sagan, both of Portland, Ore.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, Aug. 15 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne.
