Bertha Montemayor Burghard, 87, a native of San Antonio, Texas, and a resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at a local hospital.
She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, the Fairhope Garden Club and the Literacy Council.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Darbro of Bargersville, Ind.; son, Rob Gilpin of Fairhope; brother, Charles Montemayor of Madison, Wis.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at St. James Episcopal Church.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Baldwin County Humane Society or to St. James Episcopal Church Concert Series.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
