William Aubrey Burnett, 89, a native of Tennessee, and a resident of Fairhope, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 at a local health care facility.

He was a World War II veteran, serving on the submarine USS Nautilus, and the Hilary P. Jones. Subsequently, he was employed as an aircraft mechanic at Harrisburg, Pa., Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., and Tobyhanna, Pa. He was a member of the Summerdale Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Burnett, 26.

Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Brozonis Burnett of Fairhope; daughter, Lydia Auman of Seagrove, N.C.; two sisters, Nancy Brooks and Mary Katherine Bradley both of Panama City, Fla.; threegrandsons; eight nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 6475 Van Buren St. Suite 201, Daphne, AL 36526.
