Jerry Ray Burnthorn, 68, a native of Amite, La., a former resident of Pensacola, Fla., and a resident of Robertsdale, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008.

He was a former driver for McLean Trucking Company and was past president of Teamsters Local Union No. 991. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Darby-Burnthorn of Robertsdale; daughter, Judy Lynn (George Giles) Burnthorn of New Orleans; son, Tony (Lisa) Corvo of Robertsdale; daughter-in-law, Melissa Ard of Robertsdale; step-children, Melinda (Bo) Boggs of Robertsdale, Jason (Brenda) Brock of Summerdale and J.J. Darby of Robertsdale; two sisters, Frances Crochet and Dolores Haydell, both of Walker, La.; brother, Alton (Jane) Burnthorn of Baton Rouge, La.; three grandchildren, Kristyn Corvo, Marissa Corvo and Morgan Corvo; and four step-grandchildren, Erin and Joshua Brock, Savannah Hallstrom and Sawyer Boggs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 at the Loxley Church of God with the Rev. James Cables officiating. Burial was in the New Cooper Cemetery in Robertsdale.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Patrick’s School, P.O. Box 609, Robertsdale, AL 36567.
