Buron Lovee Parker, 86, of Foley, went home to be with the Lord at 10 p.m. on Aug. 19, 2014.
He passed away under the tender care of hospice after a 10-day battle with pneumonia.
Mr. Parker was born in Laurel, Miss. on May 21, 1928 to Avis B. and Ruby Mae Parker, both of whom preceded him in death as did his only sibling, Pansy L. Parker Turpin.
Mr. Parker was a veteran who met and married his wife while stationed near St. Louis, Mo.
He was a carpenter, painter and cabinet-maker prior to his retirement.
He was an active member of Swift Presbyterian Church, and was an ordained elder.
Mr. Parker leaves his much-beloved wife of 66 years, Genevieve Turpin Parker; two daughters, Jeanette Parker Gartner (Don) and Linda Parker Smith (Doug); grandchildren, David W. Gartner (Tracy), Rachel Gartner, Crystal Cook (Jon) and Amy Wehlitz (Dennis); and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Green, Austin Green, Simon Gartner, Chris, Drew, Brad and Nathan Wehlitz.
Mr. Parker was dearly loved by his family, extended family, friends, church and neighbors.
Following a visitation at Swift Presbyterian Church in Foley, his ashes will be taken to Bowling Green, Mo., where a memorial service will be held, followed by burial at Antioch Cemetery in Cyrene, Mo.
