Martha Sue Hill Clark Burton, 69, of Burkesville, Ky., a former resident of Gulf Shores, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Ky.
She was born Jan. 15, 1939 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Thomas and Martha Pauline Whitehouse Hill.
She was a comptroller for the state of West Virginia and a member of the Burkesville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husbands, William R. Burton and Roger C. Clark.
Survivors include her step-mother, Dorothy Hill of Canton, Ohio; son, Roger Thomas “Tommy” (Mary) Clark of Canton; daughter, Kimberly (Tim) Maddox of Burkesville, Ky.; two sisters, Pat (Bim) Brendel of Burkesville and Lari Jeanne (Buck) Floyd of Leavittsburg, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Maddox, Timothy James Maddox and Caden Lee Maddox.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 9 with services at 1 p.m. Friday, May 9 from the memory chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, Burkesville, Ky., with Dr. Mark Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Scotts Cemetery in Cumberland County, Ky.
