Businessman Sean Gibbs seeking Daphne District 4 seat

Daphne businessman Sean Gibbs has recently announced he will seek the Daphne City Council District 4 seat in this year’s elections.

Gibbs said he hoped the residents of the district will support him in this race because he has specific, goal-oriented plans for the district at city.

“I want to represent the voice and true interest of the citizens of District 4,” Gibbs said. “I want to encourage new business growth while helping our existing businesses continue to flourish. I want to continue improvement in our recreation department and make sure we’re reaching out to people of all ages. I also think we need to maintain a strong police force and fire department.”

Gibbs is a local Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. He has been married to his wife Heather Gibbs for 10 years and they have 3 daughters: Haley, Kaitlyn and Morgan. He said his family moved to Daphne and immediately fell in love with the area.

“District 4 is the city of Daphne’s fastest growing area, and with boundaries on all other sides, we are excited about the growth potential of our eastern border,” Gibbs said. “When considering this growth, there will be big decisions involved in the framework. These crucial decisions will position us as either prepared for an expanding population or be the cause of challenges that will have to be corrected in the future.”

Gibbs said the strategy to make that positioning a success will be dependent on the council’s ability to come together to create solutions.

“This is where my talents excel: bringing people together,” Gibbs said. “Timing is also crucial. Currently I feel we do not have a unified voice in the city. This is due to being the newest part of Daphne and a need for more awareness that we are in this together as a district. When elected, I will prove with my actions how progress can be delivered when passion and clarity are driven by purpose.”
