Busy weekend in Robertsdale

Family and friends gathered at the PZK Civic Center in Robertsdale on Saturday to hold a benefit fish fry for 7-month-old Lola Joy Benton. Lola, the daughter of Paul and Lindsey Benton of Silverhill, is battling sickness and recovery of Mal-Rotation of her intestines. The fish fry began at 11 a.m. and by 11:30 they were running out of some items, said Lola’s grandmother Cindy Major. Elsewhere in Robertsdale on Saturday, Ronald McDonald paid a special visit to McDonald's in Robertsdale to celebrate the store's first anniversary. JOHN UNDERWOOD/Independent Staff Photos
