Martha Eleanor Knowles Byrd, 62, a native and resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, surrounded by her family.
She was a beautician since the age of 18 in Fairhope. She was a very devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren and a loving mother to her three sons and two daughters-in-law. She is forever in our hearts and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Natalie Thomas-Vick, whom she loved dearly.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Ray (Michelle Middleton-Byrd) Byrd, James Calvin "Jimmy" Byrd, and Mark Anthony (Melanie Beauchamp-Byrd) Byrd Sr., all of Fairhope; grandchildren, Free Hammond of Grayton Beach, Fla., India Raeven, Eden Jade, Mark Anthony Jr., Christian Dakota, and Cory Levi, Tori Cheyenne Byrd, all of Fairhope; her father, Lloyd Vick of Fairhope; brother, Elmer (Jean) Vick of Fairhope, niece, Natalie Vick Lugo of Georgia, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Brook Cedron Cemetery.
