Richard James Cameron Sr., 79, of Daphne died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008.
He was born July 23, 1928 in Bay St. Louis, Miss., the son of Luther and Theresa Cameron.
He served during the Korean War in the 82nd Airborne Special Force Division of the U.S. Army. He was a long-time resident of Picayune, Miss., and retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette, La. He was an active member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Daphne.
He was preceeded in death by his loving parents, seven sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce Vaughn Cameron; two daughters, Theresa Cameron (Dr. John Paul) White of Tupelo, Miss.; and Belinda Cameron (Dr. George Allan) Eyrich of Mobile; son, Richard James (Cathey Langford) Cameron, Jr. of Madison, Miss.; grandchildren, Cameron and William White, Allan Eyrich, Jake and Leanna Cameron; sister, Kay (Dr. John) Kistler of Mandeville, La.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were held Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Daphne. Graveside services followed at New Palestine Cemetery, Picayune, Miss.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Bilbo, T.Y. Gardner, Shelby Holden, Robert Preston, Rocky Vaughn and Scotty Vaughn.
