FAIRHOPE — A candidate for the Baldwin County Commission was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of third-degree domestic violence, according to Fairhope police.
Jacob Daniel Dyas, 27, was arrested Feb. 24 at 6:56 p.m. in the 8000 block of Fairhope Avenue, according to city records.
The Andalusia, Ala. native is opposing incumbent David Ed Bishop for the Republican nomination for the District 2 County Commission seat.
The candidate’s wife, Laura Dyas, filed for divorce last August, according to media reports.
A hearing in the misdemeanor case is scheduled for April 21 in Fairhope Municipal Court.
