Carl Thorenton Windham, 79, of Elsanor, died Saturday, May 4, 2013.

Mr. Windham was a devoted husband of 54 years, loving father, grandfather and brother, a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict, a 37-year retired pipefitter for Scott Paper Co., active member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Robertsdale and a member of Robertsdale Lodge No. 821 Free & Accepted Masons.

He was preceded in death by a son, Carl David Windham; and two brothers, Rodney and Jimmie Windham.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Windham; a son, Michael Windham of Rosinton; two daughters, Carla Windham Little of Elsanor and Hilary Windham Moore of Byron, Ga.; two brothers, John Frank Windham of Spanish Fort and Francis Windham of Beatrice, Ala.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Windham will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Bethel Baptist Church in Robertsdale. Visitation will be held Monday, May 6, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 22764 Hwy. 59, Robertsdale, AL 36567, or The American Cancer Society, 19059 S. Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL 36532.
