Carole Smyer Jones

Carole Smyer Jones, 70, a native of Auburn, a lifelong resident of Fairhope and a resident of Foley, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011.

She retired from Bellsouth and was a Telephone Pioneer. After retirement she became a regular volunteer at the Haven.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Jones of White House Fork;

daughters, Michele Jones (Eric) Arnett of Granger, Ind., Kimberly Ashtin Jones of Daphne, Shannon Gay (Danny) Sullivan of Fairhope and

Jody Leigh Ward of White House Fork; her father, Robert F. Smyer of Fairhope; sister, Jan Prickett (Mile) Butler of Daphne; three brothers, Dr. William “Bill” Smyer of Fancy Gap, Va., Mercer (Judy) Prickett of Scottsboro, Richard F. (Sissy) Smyer of Bedford, Texas; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her devoted dog, Gus.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 2 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Private graveside services will be at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
