In Loving Memory of Carolyn Mae Dunbar, age 81, who was a longtime resident of the Styx River community, and passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. She was born Aug. 30, 1940, in Watertown, New York.
Carolyn was a graduate of Brownsville High School, Texas, class of 1958. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law and aunt. She adored her family and spent much time cooking for them, always lending a helping hand and creating memories with them. Carolyn was a faithful member of the Styx River Baptist Church, where she served by preparing meals for those in need in the community alongside other ladies of the church. She was a retiree of Baldwin County EMC where she worked for 27 years in the billing department. In her spare time, she was an avid reader. She had a collection of books and magazines and loved going to the library or bookstore.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved son, Hubert Lynn Dunbar. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, William H. Dunbar, Jr., of Styx River; children, Robert Dale Dunbar (Ruth), and Timothy S. Dunbar; four grandchildren, Robert Dunbar, Jr., Jeremy Dunbar (Heather), Brian Dunbar and Haley Dunbar; five great-children, Trysta, Jarid, Dustin, Emmy, and Avery; nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Styx River Baptist Church, 22254 Old Brady Road, Robertsdale, Alabama. Date and time to be announced.
