Mildred Lavinia Carroll, born Jan. 11, 1916, in Seekonk, Mass., a resident of Spanish Fort, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010.

She was a former resident of Biloxi and Gulfport, Miss., New Paris, Ohio, Chicago, Indianapolis, San Francisco and Boston.

She enjoyed cooking, painting, gardening, sailing, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

She was daring and adventurous as any during her time and outgoing and friendly. You were never alone if she was around and you always knew when she was in the room. 

She was a loving wife and daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd D. Carroll; her parents, Ira and Estelle Cook; and three brothers, Carlton, Russell and Raymond Cook.

Survivors include three children, Katherine D. Carroll and David Dean Carroll, both of Mobile, and D. Elaine Jonas of Bradford, Ohio; five grandchildren, Gretchen Jonas, Samantha Caldwell, Amie Miller, Shane Sizemore and Sean Carroll; two great-granddaughters, Alivia Miller and Ireland Carroll; three great-grandsons, Wibkelly Caldwell, Dalton Sizemore and Avery Wayne Miller;  many friends and relatives scattered from the Gulf Coast to Michigan to New England.

A private memorial service will be held in the summer.
