William C. Carroll, 67, died Feb. 11, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital in Libby, Mont.
He was born March 16, 1940 in Sayre, the son of William M. and Edith Russell Carroll. He grew up in Sayre and graduated from Corner High School in 1958.
He attended Auburn University, earning a bachelor’s degree. In March 1964 he met Mary Dwinal and they married Sept. 10, 1966 in Loxley. They resided in Gulf Shores for many years, In 1969, he was employed with Gulf Shores Water Works that later became the Utilities Board, where he retired some 30 years later.
They moved to Libby, Mont., in November 1998. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Carroll; a daughter, Kathryn M. Hude of Missouri; and one grandson, Chris L. Moran of Illinois.
A memorial service was held March 16 at Nelson & Vial Funeral Home Chapel in Libby. Visitation followed the service at Libby City Hall.
