Dr. Christy Jackson Carroll of Huntsville and William Steven Carroll of Covington, Ga. announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Jessica Ashley Carroll, to Thomas Barrett Norris, the son of Dr. William Barrett Norris and Jennifer Lawson Norris of Fairhope.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Jackson, and Mr. and Mrs. George Carroll Sr. of Florence.
She is a 1999 graduate of Randolph School, a 2003 graduate of Southern Methodist University and a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa with a Ph.D in educational psychology and statistics. She is a consultant for various businesses throughout the state of Alabama and teaches courses at Samford University and the University of Alabama.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Norris of Spanish Fort, Barbara Lawson of Fairhope and the late William Lawson.
He is a 1999 graduate of Fairhope High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa with a B.S. degree in finance. He is employed by Care Fusion as a medical sales consultant in Birmingham.
The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at the Western Beach, Rosemary Beach, Fla. A reception will follow at St. Augustine Park in Rosemary Beach.
