DAPHNE, Ala.—Blair Heald, Project Jubilee teacher, would like to send a big thank-you to all of her chaperones for the recent three day Coosa River field trip.
“They all were such a great source of help andsupport in making sure the students had a safe and wonderful learningexperience,” Heald said. “Good job to Mrs. Parke, Mrs. Ready, Mr. Walding, Mr. Quinnelly, Mrs. Yazdi, Mr. Haley, Mr. Rowell, Mr. Godwin, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Schofield, Grandma Smith, Ms. Reinhart, and Mrs. Nichol.”
Third quarter ends on Friday, March 20. This will be a half day for students at the school and at Daphne Elementary only. Teachers will be participating in professional development that afternoon.
In P.E., students have been participating in Jump Rope For Heart, a national educational fund-raising program that is sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. According to http://www.americanheart.org/, this program engages elementary students in jumping rope while raising funds to support lifesaving heart and stroke research.
Students ask friends and family for donations and receive thank-you gifts based on the dollars they raise. This educational program teaches physical fitness andpromotes the value of community service to students and their families.
