Philip Lewis Caswell Sr., 66, a native of Bisbee, Ariz., and a longtime resident of Fairhope, died on Monday, June 22, 2009 at a local hospital.

He was a retired veteran of the U. S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, serving in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley Ann Caswell of Fairhope; four sons, Philip Lewis Caswell, Jr. of Texas, Arthur Shawn Caswell, Ryan Thomas Caswell, and Zachary Macdonald Caswell, all of Fairhope; two daughters, Kerima (Paul) Ann McIntosh and Kristina (Bill) Diane Carroll, both of Fairhope; sister, Nancy Irene Smith of Evant, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and expecting one great-grandchild.

A memorial service and visitation were held Friday, June 26 from the Liberty Church of Fairhope, with Pastor Carter Schultz officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 14 Office Park Circle, Suite 115, Birmingham.
