Mrs. Rita Turner's 5th grade class at CCS has been studying Newton's Third Law of Motion and were able to prove the concept with a recent project. Each student was required to build a balloon-powered race car of recycled materials. Each race car had to travel at least 5 meters and could only be powered with one balloon. The racer could be made out of anything, but had to have 3 - 4 wheels which must be from non-typical materials. Students were awarded prizes based on design and distance.
