• Martin honored as Ambassador of the Month
SILVERHILL, Alabama The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate Liz Martin on being named Ambassador of the Month for October.
Martin joined the United Bank team in December of 2013 as branch manager of the Silverhill Branch. She joined the Central Baldwin Chamber in January of 2014.
Martin has been in the financial industry for 30 years. She has always been involved in local area chambers as well as Sertoma and business to business networking groups.
“The Chamber has been a wonderful place for me to meet people in business with incredible resources, new customers and new friends,” Martin said. “Being involved is the key. You will come away with so much if you show up.”
Volunteering has also been a passion of Martin’s and in 2012 she was recognized by President Barak Obama as a volunteer with over 100 volunteer hours in a year.
“I believe in giving of my time,” she said. “When there are not funds to contribute, one can always give of their time. I personally feel such an overwhelming return from being able to help people and my community. I am thankful that I have had so many opportunities put in my path.”
Martin has worked with Habitat for Humanity on a home build, United Way as head of her region for SunTrust Bank with their annual campaign for two years, United Way’s Day of Caring and with the Money Smart program as a facilitator for several financial literacy classes.
