ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce held its 2nd Annual Past Chairman's Meeting on Oct. 26 at the Baldwin County Association of Realtors in Robertsdale.
“The purpose of the Past Chairman's meeting is to give our current Executive Board the opportunity to share with our past leaders the direction the Chamber is going,” said Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce Director of Operations Jamie Mangion,” “and to hear suggestions and feedback as we prepare for our annual board retreat where we will plan for the upcoming year.”
Topics of discussion at this meeting included the hiring of a new assistant, Gail Quezada, who will be taking on some of the day to day tasks at the Chamber office allowing Mangion, to take on more of a marketing and public relations position in order to make calls on current membership as well as prospective members. Other items discussed involved the idea of the Chamber growing their Annual Prayer Breakfast and Annual Academic Banquet by bringing in national speakers that would generate more attendance and more revenue. This would allow the Chamber to have additional funds to give back to the community in the form of a donation and/or scholarship. There was also some discussion around generating more exposure for local chamber members such as asking Chamber businesses to stay open late for the Christmas parade in order to draw people in their doors or having a chamber business spotlighted each month on the Chamber website.
Those in attendance for the meeting included Steve Brooks, Chris Klinger, Jamie Mangion, Gail Quezada, George Spotswood, Donna Givens, Dennis Stastka, Hoss Mack, Jamie Hardy, Rosie Broadus-Sanford, Keith Cooper and Kathy Shumate.
Lunch was provided by Magnolia Blossom Cafe.
