ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — After hosting two successful “Coffee with the Sheriff” events with Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack Jr., the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Coffee with the Chief” event Friday featuring Robertsdale Police Chief Brad Kendrick.

About 20 residents attended Friday’s event at Goo Roo’s Grill in Robertsdale.

“I am truly blessed to serve this city and to work with such great people in this department,” Kendrick said.

Kendrick, along with RPD lieutenants Anthony Dobson and Rex Bishop, who oversees the investigations division for the department, attended the event.

Topics of discussion included maintaining a police presence in the schools; mentoring programs; public safety issues; the RPD’s canine officer Meaux; relationships between the police and fire departments; other departments around Baldwin County and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department; and the possibility of hosting gun safety and self-defense classes.

A native of Robertsdale and graduate of Robertsdale High School, Kendrick is a 25-year veteran of the Robertsdale Police Department and has served more than 13 years as chief. He has served as president of the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police and is a graduate of the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia.

The next Coffee with the Chief event will be with Silverhill Police Chief Kevin Brock.

There is no cost to attend and all are welcome.
