ROBERTSDALE, Alabama --- The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting "Moonlight & Magnolias," Thursday night to a packed house at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale.
The Chamber welcomed new Board Chairman Tommy Herndon, honored incoming and outgoing Board members and handed out awards at Thursday's meeting.
Herndon said he was looking forward to a successful year in 2012.
"Everything we are can be summed up into one word," he said, "and that one word is loyalty. Loyalty is what makes one plus one equal a lot more than two."
Outgoing Chairman Steve Brooks expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped during 2011.
"When I was asked to do this I was worried that I couldn't do it, and I was right," he said. "I couldn't do it alone, but we did it together, we meaning all of you. Just as you are the owners of your business, you are the owners of this Chamber and together we can accomplish anything."
Dennis Stastka and Katina Griffin were honored as Man and Woman of the Year for 2011. Barbara Davis of Loxley was named Community Volunteer of the Year and David Garbo of Hiller Systems was named Chamber Volunteer of the Year.
Business of the Year awards were given to: ARC of BaldwinCounty, Robertsdale; Lil G's Cajun Market, Loxley; Advantage Business Solutions, Silverhill; and Summer Scoops, Summerdale.
