ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Learn about the people, places and events that shape this area from the 2015-2016 Central Baldwin Magazine, a publication of the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, produced by Alliance publishing group.

“We really want this year’s magazine to be people driven,” said Chamber Director of Operations Jamie Mangion. “We have a lot of amazing people that come from this area and make this area work and we want the focus to be on them.”

In addition to features on the Chamber’s Man and Woman of the Year, a calendar of events and area attractions, the magazine will also include features call “Throwback Business” which will focus on businesses that shape the Central Baldwin area and the people behind them including:

• Robertsdale Feed, Seed & Supply, Hendry Waldon and Brian Johnson.

• Racine Feed, Garden & Supply, Jim Racine.

• Loxley Discount Drugs, Robert Barnhill.

• Lee Drug Store, Donna Brown.

• Habitat for Humanity, Sandra Folan.

• Fiddler Farms.

The magazine will also include “Hometown Heroes” like Kyle Irwin and Cody Harris, along with “Hidden Treasures,” like Stewart Lodges at Steelwood and Wales West RV Resort & Light Railway.”

There will also be articles focusing on education and healthcare, Mangion said.

It’s not too late to advertise in the 2015-16 Central Baldwin Magazine, said Carl Davis, president of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for 2015.

“This is such a great resource for the people of this area,” he said, “and we really want to do what we can to keep the magazine going.”

As the official marketing publication of the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, Central Baldwin Magazine will reach thousands of people through a wide distribution that includes:

• Relocation packages: Included in newcomer welcome packages.

• Financial institutions: Distributed by banks, credit unions and other area financial institutions to new businesses and individual clients.

• Area churches: Included in new member's information kit.

• Real estate companies: Included in newcomer packets for prospective home buyers. Used as a sales tool for individual clients.

• Health care providers: Available in reception area. Used as a recruitment tool throughout the year.

• Chamber members and advertisers: Used as a key marketing tool throughout the year.

• Hotels and motels: Distributed to guests staying in the hotels and motels.

• Local newspaper: In 2014, over 900 copies of Central Baldwin Magazine was distributed with the local newspaper, the Times Independent. It is our plan to continue this each year.
