ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — “Education gives you choices and the next four years will be the best ones you will have. Take advantage of every opportunity to be the best you can.”

Those words of encouragement were given by Central Baldwin Middle School Principal Chuck Anderson to the eighth grade students as they assembled for the end of the year awards ceremony last Thursday.

Anderson, along with Student Government Association Sponsor and seventh grade Social Studies teacher Gina DiOrio, handed out numerous awards and certificates to seventh and eighth graders in different subject categories.

Some special awards were also given out including the Daughters of the American Revolution Award to Zoe Groseclose by Sheila Stone, who represented the Fort Bowyer Chapter in Foley. This award was given for displaying good citizenship, honor and service to the community.

Tiffany Plato, Technology Students of America sponsor, handed out certificates to those students who participated in the Career Technical competitions held earlier this year. CBMS students received second place overall in the state for their projects.

“I am so proud of these students. They worked so hard and are to be commended for their dedication,” Plato said.
