ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — With Christmas and New Year’s falling on Sunday, municipalities in Central Baldwin have set aside time for their employees this holiday season.

In Robertsdale, all municipal offices will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23 for the Christmas Eve holiday and Monday, Dec. 26 for the Christmas day holiday, it was announced at the Council’s Monday, Dec. 5 meeting.

Residents whose garbage pickup is normally scheduled for Friday will have garbage pickup on Thursday, Dec. 22 and garbage pickup normally scheduled for Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Robertsdale city employees will receive a half-day holiday on Friday, Dec. 30. Offices will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 2.

In Loxley, municipal offices will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26. Offices will also be closed Monday, Jan. 2.

Loxley Town Clerk Melissa Lawrence said the holidays will not affect normal Tuesday and Thursday garbage pickup.

Normal Friday garbage pickup for the Town of Silverhill will only be affected during the Christmas holiday, said Town Clerk Patricia Bankester. Pickup normally scheduled for Friday, Dec. 23 will be rescheduled to either Thursday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 27, she said.

Offices in Silverhill will be also be closed Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2.

While no official action has been taken by either municipality, both the Silverhill and Robertsdale council meetings scheduled for Monday, Jan. 2 will likely be rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Loxley’s work session meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 26 was cancelled at the Council’s Monday, Dec. 12 meeting.
