Ghosts, goblins, ghouls and things that go bump in the night, and while you’re at it, throw in a super hero and a princess or two. Several organizations and businesses in Central Baldwin County are planning events for the upcoming Halloween observance.

Haunted Swamp

On Saturday, Oct. 25 the Robertsdale Rotary Club will host Doc Cooper’s Haunted Swamp from 6 to 9 p.m. at the home of Margaret and Keith Cooper, 22100 College Ave., Robertsdale.

The free event is a fun Halloween adventure trail open to children of all ages, said Rotary Club President Chad Thomas. Bags filled with individually wrapped candy will be available for children.

Donations are being collected for the William F. Green Veteran’s Home. For more information contact Thomas at cthomas@baldwinemc.com.

Halloween Fun Night

The Robertsdale Public Library will host its annual Halloween Fun Night from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 18301 Pennsylvania St. in Robertsdale. The event is free for children 12 and under and features a trunk or treat, hot dogs and drink, games and prizes and a hay ride with the Robertsdale Fire Department.

“This year we’re going to start a little earlier and we’re going to expand down Pennsylvania Street with more game and more room,” said Library Director Cynthia Nall.

Nall won’t be hard to spot. She’ll be dressed as Cruella deVille, while the library staff will all be dressed as dalmations, including the library’s resident canine Nayla.

“This is just a fun, safe event and we hope once again to have a big crowd,” Nall said. Last year’s event drew about 1,200 residents to the library.

For more information contact Nall at 251-947-8960.
