Central Christian School dedicates new athletic fields

ROBERTSDALE, Ala.— Central Christian School cut the ribbon on their new baseball and softball fields Saturday, April 16. Mary Catherine Shelton, widow of the school’s founder Pastor Russell Shelton cut the ribbon at the dedication. 

Central Christian Baseball then defeated East Hill Christian 5-2 Saturday in the Saints first home game on campus.

Zaine Johnson struck out nine in a seven-inning performance on the mound and delivered an RBI at the plate for CCS. Austin Gross put the Saints up early with a 2-run homer in his first at bat. Conner Atwell and Caleb Fuller each added an RBI in the victory.

The Saints improved to 5-2 in Panhandle Christian Conference play and will host the Panhandle Christian Conference Regional Baseball Tournament April 22-23.  

SOFTBALL: Central Christian 23, East Hill 0

The Lady Saints opened their first-ever game on the CCS campus with a 23-0 shutout over East Hill.
