LOXLEY, Ala. — With grade point averages that were 3.7 or over, the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce honored 33 graduating seniors from Central Christian School and Robertsdale High School May 20 at the Loxley Civic Center.

“You are the cream of the crop of your classes,” said Joseph Shaw, the chairman of the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce.

While the seniors were contemplating college or starting a career, a sobering note came from Halle Dixon, the event’s guest speaker. Noting that she was at a similar award banquet 19 years ago, she was home shortly after that, pregnant.

Saying that she followed the “road less traveled,” Dixon urged the students to pursue their dreams.

Chris Klinger, the chairman of the banquet, urged the students to be “conscious” of themselves, to accept themselves, to be responsible, to assert themselves, to have a purpose in life and to have integrity.

Central Christian School awards were presented by CCS Headmaster Tim Shelton. The students honored were David Harding, Camilla Milton, Sydney Mott and Kyndra Perry.

Robertsdale High School awards were presented by Robertsdale Mayor Charles Murphy. The students were Stephan Barnes, John Bartlett, Kristian Brannan, Steven Collins, Roanna Council, Kaitlyn Dawkins, Hayden Dudley, Brandon Ellis, Kelsey Fincher, Adrienne Gates, Savannah Hallstrom, Taylor Jackson, Kara Kyser, Tiffany Langham, Dustin Marshall, Bridget Mott, Emily Odom, Andrew Pischek, Alexander Powers, Lexus Simpson, Andrew Slaughter, Jesse Strader, Joseph Swinson, Alexis Vaughn, Colton Weaver, Ryan Williams, Devin Williamson, Kyle Woolley and Britton Zellers.
