Chamber plans annual banquet

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual banquet Jan. 21 at the Baldwin Coliseum.

Called a “Night with the Stars,” the banquet will honor the Chamber of Commerce’s “Stars” for the year.

“We will be handing out our business awards and the Man and Woman of the Year awards,” said Jamie Mangion, the Chamber’s Director of Operations. “We will also be honoring our volunteer of the year and our outgoing board members.”

The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction. A dinner will also be served. Tickets are $35 per person or $280 per table of eight. Organizers say formal attire is optional. Reservations required by Jan. 14 to 947-2626 or jmangion@centralbaldwin.com.

While the event is geared to Chamber members, “Anyone can come,” said Kay Arnette, a Chamber spokesperson.

Arnette said, “There will be good food and there will be a lot of good people.”

Details as to what will be offered aren’t available yet, but the auction has been a highlight of the event in years past. Fans of the Tigers and the Crimson Tide should be able to find things to please them.

According to Mangion, the Chamber will also present its “Plan of Work,” the projects and programs that the Chamber will concentrate on in 2010.

“It’s a great networking event, with good food and a silent auction,” said Darlene Roper.
