Jack Chandler, 82 a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at North Baldwin Infirmary.
He was a retired electrician with Newport Industries; a member of First Baptist Church; Alabama Cattlemen’s Association; Bay Minette Lodge No. 498 F. & A.M. and Abba Shrine, Mobile; and he served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Mae Chandler and his parents, Willie and Q.V. Chandler.
Survivors include a daughter, Carmen Varena Keith of Daphne; son, Michael W. (Cathy) Chandler of Bay Minette; brother, William H. “Billy” Chandler of Pine Grove; two sisters, Clarice Kite of Semmes and Bertha Philphot of Bay Minette; three grandchildren, Carrie Reece of Bay Minette, Michelle Jones of Irvington, Zachary Keith of Memphis, Tenn., and A. J. Keith of Daphne; and one great-grandson, John Michael Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Henry Cox and Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. Military Honors were rendered by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
