NEWARK, N.J. — Travis Stone of Daphne, a sales manager for Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, and a team of colleagues received a $250 Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants Award, benefiting the Freedom Calls Foundation.

He and his team dedicated more than 80 volunteer hours by organizing and hosting the inaugural Operation Christmas Calls event for local and non-local service families to come into their Prudential office and have a "face-to-face" video call with their loved ones overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The foundation's mission is to build a communications network independent of military networks, employing state-of-the-art technology enabling troops to communicate free from their base camps to their families at home.

The Prudential Foundation and Prudential Financial recently provided $466,250 in Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants to 603 nonprofit organizations worldwide. The Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants program recognizes individual and team volunteers based on a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer service per individual. Grants range from $250 to $5,000 for each award winner's charitable organization.

Founded in 1977, The Prudential Foundation is the nonprofit grant-making organization funded by Prudential Financial Inc.
