Charles G. Rouse

Charles G. Rouse, 65, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away July 25, 2014 of natural causes.

He was born June 8, 1949 in Foley, the son of Walstein Rouse and Melva (Wallace) Rouse.

He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Throughout his life, Mr. Rouse operated a successful business in the commercial glass industry.

He moved to Lakeland from Alabama many years ago and settled his young family in the North Lakeland community. Through the years to come, he became proudly involved in local churches, youth baseball and soccer leagues.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Melba Jean Walker.

He is survived by his sons, Brent Rouse (Summer) and Cory Rouse (Jennifer), both of Lakeland. His sons blessed him with six grandchildren. He also leaves behind sisters, Martha Margado (Jay) of Charlotte, N.C. and Diane Skuse of Levittown, Penn.; and brother, Scott Rouse (Laura), of Charlotte, N.C.

He often recalled that the happiest times of his life were fishing and coaching youth sports.

His family will gather to remember him and lay him to rest on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at 10 a.m., at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley.
