Charles Hance Eubanks, a native of Lucedale, Mississippi, and a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at the age of 91.
Charles enlisted in the US Navy after high school and served aboard the USS Helena during the Korean War. After returning home, he worked for the Civil Service at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, Alabama and the Naval Air Rework Facility at NAS Pensacola, Florida. After retiring from the Civil Service, Charles opened his own real estate brokerage. His hobbies included sailing, traveling, RVing, and spending time with his family.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Hardy Eubanks, Sr., mother, Augustine Eubanks; brother, Hardy Eubanks, Jr., sister, Louise Jones; and stepfather, Bo Eubanks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Porteous Eubanks; children, Vivian Whitten (Norris) of Mobile, Alabama, William J. Johnson (Vicky) of Pensacola, Florida, Debbie Taylor (Henry) of Mobile, Alabama and Warren J. Johnson (Theresa) of Pensacola, Florida.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 711 College Avenue in Daphne, Alabama, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
