Charles Ivey Wrape

Charles Ivey Wrape, 80, a native of Rockingham, N.C and resident of Elberta, passed away at his residence on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.

He was owner and operator of Wolf Bay Lodge for 40 years.

He was a U.S. veteran, serving in the Vietnam and Korean wars, he was a chief parachute rigger of USS Shangri-La and honorary submariner of the USS Sea Poacher (SS-406), a member of Wearers of the Dolphins, also a member of the VFW Post No. 5658, Elks Lodge and American Legion.

Mr. Wrape was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Marion Wrape; and a son, Charles Phifer Wrape.

Survivors include three daughters, Lois Ann Wrape (Tim) Willis of Danville, Ky., Alice Ann Wrape Bretz of Foley and Charlene Wrape (Tom) Haber of Lillian; seven grandchildren, Courtney (Sean) Brumley, Whitney Haber, Megan Haber, Alicia Bretz, Lacey Bretz, Johnny Bretz and Charles Keltner Willis; his beloved pet, man’s best friend, Homer; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at 12:30 p.m., at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola.

A celebration of his life will follow at the Wrape home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or BARC.
