Charles Ray Layne, 87, a native of Tracy City, Tenn., long time resident of Birmingham, and 25-year resident of Baldwin County, died Sunday, May 22, 2011.
He was the owner and operator of L & M Auto Parts for 23 years in Birmingham before retiring to Baldwin County in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Bettye Lee Layne of Foley; two daughters, Charlotte Lee (Derek) Straight and Michele (Kyle) Boling of Foley, sister, Ruth (Joseph) Boyd of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Morgan Elise Straight, Emma Selby Boling, Charles Andrew Boling, Taylor Leigh Straight and John Wyatt Boling, all of Foley.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pine rest Memorial Park.
