Charles Robert "Buddy" Peacock, 78, born April 6, 1932 in Bayou La Batre, died Thusday, Sept. 23, 2010.
He learned at an early age to love fishing, a hobby that he enjoyed for many years. For 40 years, he was a faithful Christian and a member of the Pine Street Church of Christ, who taught his family to love God.
He was a loving, sweet, compassionate man who always put his family first. He was so loved and respected by his grandchildren that they called him “Honey.” He worked as a structural ironworker as a member of Local 798 for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. Peacock and Violet Hinote Peacock; a sister, Mildred Upshaw; two infant brothers, and a nephew, Andy Moser.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Maudean “Dean” Yates Peacock; three daughters, Judy (Neal) Bridges, Sandra (Ken) Milstead of Bay Minette and Iris Thompson of Birmingham; son, David (Geri) Peacock of Bay Minette; two honorary daughters, Peggie (Tommy) Montgomery and Lisa Donley, both of Bay Minette; sister, Lois Little of Bay Minette; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Bridges, Carter Bridges, Caitlin Fagan, Amiee Milstead, Kyndall Milstead, Krystle (Michael) Gardner, David Jeremiah Peacock and John Peacock, all of Bay Minette, and Kaylee Thompson of Birmingham; three great-grandchildren, Noah Lins, Nathan Gardner and Haylin Thorpe; many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 26 at Pine Street Church of Christ with Minister O.B. Richardson officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
